  The \TeX\ math extensions (\texttt{OMX}) encoding is a container for 
  most of the ``growing'' characters in the standard math set-up, but 
  that is pretty much the extent of it. Some of the characters occur 
  in ``normal size'' in other encodings; in these cases it is usually 
  a single math command that usually make use of characters in both 
  encodings.
