+% The file \file{\filename}\footnote{The file described in this

+% For this language two ``styles'' of typesetting are implemented:
+% ``regular'' or modern-spelling Latin, and medieval Latin.
+% The medieval Latin specific commands can be activated by means of
+% the language attribute |medieval|; the medieval spelling differs

+% also where in modern spelling the letter `v' is used; when
+% typesetting with capital letters, on the opposite, the letter 'V'
