Thie is the documentation--file to the program emt2tex
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is easy to compile German text--files,
which contain all that signs as ,,,,,,, with EMTeX
at an PC, because this program understands these signs.
As soon the text is supposed to be compiled on other computer--
types (VAX's, UNIX--systems) one comes into trouble, because
LaTeX/TeX will not be able to read that strange things, which have
arrived at the other (non--PC)-System.

This program exchanges the signs (᎙) against the correct
TeX--sign ({\"a} {\"o} {\"u} {\ss} {\"A} {\"O} {\"U}).
If after that there are lines, which are longer
than 80 signs, they will be reduced, because some transfer programs
cut long lines automatically.

All you need is the program emt2tex.exe (or: compile it by yourself,
it is all FORTRAN) and the file emt2tex.cfg (in the same directory
on the PC from which you start the program), which, please, check,
if the first line contains the 7 single signs, each followed by two blancs.
If it is O.K., then you can run emt2tex. The program converts
your file ....tex into the outputfile ....txc.
After this transfer the stuff to the other computer and compile
it without trouble.

Have fun with this.
