Compiling DVISTATS on Linux
-----------------------------------
 1. "gunzip" the distribution
 2. tar -xf dvispell.tar
 3. cd dvispell # (root directory of distribution)
 4. ./configure
 5. If "configure" does not find "kpse*" items, then
install the kpathsea library and restart ./configure
 6. make

"make install" does not seem to work, then you have just to put the
dvispell executable in the common path, such as /usr/local/bin

Compiling DVISTATS on MSDOS/DJGPP
-----------------------------------------
 1. "gunzip" the distribution
 2. tar -xf dvistats.tar
 3. cd dvistats # (root directory of distribution)
 4. make

Installing DVISTATS on MSDOS/DJGPP
-----------------------------------------
 1. Copy dvistats.exe somewhere in your PATH
 2. Choose a root directory for the dictionaries (e.g. d:\emtex\dvispell) and
    set current directory to it.
 3. "unzip" (or "pkunzip -d") the various dictionaries (french.zip, english.zip,
    deutsch.zip, italian.zip and spanish.zip).
 4. Edit/rename the batch procedures ortogra*.bat to specify the convenient
    paths to parameter files.

Then, for example, "ortograf texte.dvi" will generate the list of
unknown french words in "texte.dvi".
