\title{Industrial Light and Magic}
\vskip-3pt
\centerline{\sl based on a press release}
\noindent
Amiga\TeX{} has a long history of firsts. Available since mid-1986,
\TeX{} on the Commodore Amiga, written by Tom Rokicki, was the first to use
scalable font technology to provide the best possible output on any printer. It
was the first typesetting program to allow interprocess communication with other
applications through ARexx. And now, Amiga\TeX{} is the first publishing
program on the Amiga to support fully arbitrary \PS\ fonts and graphics
on-screen.

Amiga\TeX{} users can choose from thousands of \PS\ Type~3 and hinted Type~1
fonts. The fonts can be scaled, slanted, and stretched. \PS\ fonts will be
rendered automatically for screen display or any printer as needed. \PS\
graphics from a wide variety of sources -- including virtually all structured
drawing packages on the Amiga and other machines -- can be easily scaled and
integrated into Amiga\TeX{} documents. The graphics will appear on the screen
exactly as they will on a printer, within the limits of the screen resolution.

Widely recognized as the best \TeX{} implementation available for any
computer,  Amiga\TeX{} is fully compatible with the latest \TeX{} 3.1 and \MF{}
2.7 standards, and fully supports virtual fonts in the previewer and all device
drivers. The multitasking and interprocess communication capabilities of the
Amiga  provide concurrent formatting, printing,
previewing, and editing, and all such communication can be controlled through
ARexx.

Amiga\TeX{} is a comprehensive typesetting system. Primary strengths of the
software include equations and tables, long documents (there is no limit on
document length except for the size of your hard disk), and the highest quality
typesetting.

The retail price of the new 3.1a release is \quid140.00, claimed to be lower
than the cost of direct import. A free functional demonstration disk is
available on written (not telephone!) request. For more information contact
