This is the README for biolinum-type1, version 5.3.0 (2012-09-22).
This package provides LaTeX and pdfLaTeX support for the Linux Biolinum
family of sans serif fonts. It is intended (with libertine-type1) to
replace the libertine-legacy package which the original developer
abandoned and which has several issues that now cannot be addressed.
XeLaTex and LuaLaTeX users should refer to the libertineotf package.
To install on a TDS-compliant TeX system unzip the file
/install/fonts/biolinum-type1.tds.zip at the root of an appropriate
texmf tree, likely a personal or local tree. If necessary, update
the file-name database (e.g., texhash). Update the font-map files by
enabling the Map file biolinum-type1.map.
To use, add
\usepackage{biolinum-type1}
to the preamble of your document. Options include:
oldstyle,osf old-style figures
lining,nf lining figures
proportional varying-width figures
tabular fixed-width figures
Defaults are oldstyle and proportional.
Available shapes in medium weight include:
it italic
sc small caps
scit italic small caps
sw swash
nw upright swash (extra ligatures)
Only upright and small caps are available in bold.
The otf fonts were created by Philipp H. Poll (gillian at
linuxlibertine.org) and are licensed under the terms of the GNU General
Public License (Version 2, with font exception) and under the terms of
the Open Font License. For details look into the doc directory of the
distribution or at
http://www.linuxlibertine.org/
The type1 fonts were created by Bob Tennent using cfftot1. The support
files were created by Bob Tennent using autoinst. The support files
are licensed under the terms of the LaTeX Project Public License. The
maintainer of this package is Bob Tennent (rdt at cs.queensu.ca)
