+Pmxchords extends the PMX preprocesor for musixtex to output chord
+notations over the notes. The syntax for chord symbols is as inline
+tex commands in the .pmx file.
+e.g. \ch.C.\ c44 e \ch.G7.\ d2 | \ch.C.\ c r /
+
+PMX supports key transposition and the pmxchords.lua script is
+used to transpose chord symbols accordingly (and then call pmxab as
+usual to generate a .tex file). From version 0.3, the pmx2pdf script
+in the PMX package supports a -c option to use pmxchords (and then
+pmxab) as the preprocessor (rather than pmxab directly).
+
+For installation and usage, see the pmxchords-install document.
+
+pmxchords is licensed under the GPL version 2 or later.

+We assume that you have already installed a MusiXTeX distribution
+and PMX.
+Before trying to install pmxchords from CTAN, check whether your TeX distribution
+provides a package for pmxchords; this will be easier than doing it yourself.
+But if your TeX distribution
+doesn't have pmxchords (or doesn't have the most recent version), this distribution
+of pmxchords is very easy to install, though
+you may need to read the material on
+installation of (La)TeX files in the
+TeX FAQ\footnote{%

+\section{Installing \texttt{pmxchords.tds.zip}}
+
+In this distribution of pmxchords, most of the files to be installed
+(including macros, documentation, and a processing script) are in
+\texttt{tex-archive/install/support/pmxchords.tds.zip} at CTAN.
+The file \verb|pmxchords.tds.zip| is a zipped TEXMF
+hierarchy; simply download it and unzip in the root folder/directory of whichever TEXMF tree
+you decide is most appropriate, likely a ``local'' or ``personal'' one.
+This should work with any TDS\footnote{%
+\myurl{http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=tds}}
+compliant TeX distribution, including MikTeX, TeXlive and teTeX.
+
+After unzipping the archive, update the filename database as necessary,
+for example, by executing \verb\texhash ~/texmf\ or
+clicking the button labelled ``Refresh FNDB" in the MikTeX settings program.

+The Lua script \verb\.../scripts/pmx/pmxchords.lua\
+transposes chord symbols in the \verb\pmx\ file as necessary
+and then calls \verb\pmxab\.

+symbolic link \texttt{pmxchords} in any directory on the executable PATH as follows:
