Choose a system wide TeX Distribution
If you want to change the system wide Default TeX Distribution used from command line or frontends, you need to:
- be an administrator because this affects all the users on your machine,
- open the TeX Distribution preference pane,
- Check the radio button in front of the requested distribution
You will then be asked for an administrator password in order to validate the changes. When done, the changes are expected to take effect immediately.
If you are not an administrator, you might be able to choose your personal Default TeX Distribution, depending on the TeX frontend you are using. In the Terminal, you might need to use the texdist shell tool.
